CAP 12 years later: How the rules have changed (by Eric Brewer)

I haven't been posting for some time. I have been busy (in a good way) with my classes at my sabbatical institute. This morning I read Eric Brewer's state-of-the-union article on CAP theorem . The article is a very good and useful read. I took some notes (mostly verbatim from the article) to share with my students in the course to give them a synopsis of CAP.
